Birth Doula Services and Fees

Picture

Initial Meeting:
I like to meet with prospective clients in person to see if we are a good fit for each other. This meeting is free and can take place at your home or a neutral meeting place, such as a coffee shop.
I recommend that you interview 2-3 potential doulas to make sure you find the right fit.

Birth Doula Services:
Once we decide to work together, we will meet for two visits at your home. We will talk about your birth preferences and I can help you find evidence based information to help guide your wishes. We will also spend time discussing and practicing comfort measures.

When you go into labor, I will meet you at your home or birth place at your request, and stay with you for the duration of labor. I will stay for 1-2 hours post-birth to help with initial breastfeeding and make sure that you are settled.

I always work with a back up doula, in the event that I am unable to attend your birth.

Postpartum Services:
I like to visit new families within 2 weeks after your baby is born. This provides you space to process your birth experience, if desired, and for me to oooh and ahhh over your new little one. I can also provide referrals to any community resources you may be interested in.

Throughout our time working together, and anytime after, I am available by email if any questions or concerns arise.

Fee:
My fee for Birth Doula services, including the prenatal and postpartum visits, is $850. I ask for the retainer ($425) when we decide to work together and the balance at our second prenatal appointment. If cost is a true barrier and you would like to work together, let me know and we can discuss payment plan or barter options.
